Delbert R. Williams, 93, of Bowling Green, KY passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Hospice House of Southern KY.  He was born June 9, 1924 in Mt. Union, KY and graduated from Meador High School in 1941 with a Senior Class of three.  After graduating from Draughn's Business College in Nashville, he began working as a clerk for the Tennessee Central Railroad and retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad as Sales Manager after 43 years of service.  After retirement, for 31 years he and his wife Georgia split their time between Bonita Spring, FL and their farm in Bowling Green.  He loved music, camping, fishing, golf, warm weather, and his tractor.  He also loved a good story and never met a stranger.  An active church member his whole life, he most recently attended Bethany Baptist Church in Alvaton.  He adored his wife and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Erasmus Williams and Martha "Bertie" Conyers Williams and seven brothers and sisters.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of seventy-four years, Georgia Burkett Williams and their two children, Anita Williams Shearer (Michael) of Hiseville, KY and Michael Williams of Bonita Springs, FL and one granddaughter, Jeanne Shearer, of Beaufort, NC.    He also has one surviving brother Robert Williams (Linda), Camden, TN.

Visitation will be at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home on Monday, April 2 from 5 pm to 8 pm, and services will be on Tuesday April 3, at 10 am with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery#2.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Hospice of Southern Kentucky or the Alzheimer's Association.
