Cheryl “Cheri” Rae Turner Dowell, born May 24, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on September 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Cheri is survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael; her son, Ryan (Shelby); her sister, Karen Brooks (David); her nieces, Ericka, Katelyn, and Sheridan; her aunt, Doris Hayes; and several cousins. She was affectionately known as “CeCe” to Joshua, Emersyn, and Juniper. She also leaves behind her beloved cats, affectionately known as the “BooRoo Boys,” who brought her much joy and companionship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Prentice Ray Turner and Delores Turner, and her beloved Granny Mears.

Cheri was a 1976 graduate of Western High School in Louisville, Kentucky, and a graduate of Western Kentucky University. She was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from The Medical Center after 25 years of service.

Cheri will be deeply missed. The memories of her life and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

REVISED LOCATION: Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 12:00 pm with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at First Baptist Church.
