Charlene Hester, 95, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky. The Boyce, KY native was a daughter of the late Charles Henry and Ina Ree Reynolds Board. In addition to her parents Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Hester; two sons, Lanny Hester and Mark Hester; one sister, Dorothy Holland.

Mrs. Hester is of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful homemaker, enjoyed cooking and was an excellent gardener.

Charlene is survived by her son, Jerry Hester (Shelia); one sister, Ruth Holland; and a special nephew, Kent Holland; six grandchildren, Amy Lawson, Jennifer Mihok (Robbie), Jill Strain, Leigh Ann Hester, Justin Hester (Lauren) and Lori George (Seth) and nine great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Paula Hester and Pam Hester.

The family wishes to extend special thanks and gratitude to the staff at both Greenwood Nursing Home and Rehab, and Hospice of Southern Kentucky for their wonderful care during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.

Family has requested memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
