Carroll Hughes, 84, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Southern Kentucky with his family by his side. The Greenville, KY native was the son of the late Murrell Hughes and Mary Vick Hughes.

Carroll was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a member of the Kentucky National Guard and retired from retail management after 32 years.  Carroll enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Sue Crowe Hughes; one daughter, Vicki Hughes Brooks (Phil); one son, Carroll Lee Hughes Jr. (Pam); two brothers, Charles Hughes and David Hughes (Janet); four grandchildren, Mitchell Hughes (Amber), Kayla Clark Driver, Kelcy Clark Duvall (Chase) and Keaton Clark (Megan); eight great grandchildren, Gracie Hughes, Benton Hughes, Kadyn Duvall, Greysen Driver, Colter Clark, Leyton Duvall, Parker Wren Duvall and Merit Sue Clark.

Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky or to Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
