Carolyn Lee Powers, age 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Hopkins Center Nursing Home in Woodburn. She was a St. Louis, MO native and the daughter of the late Geoffrey Oliver Davis and Blanche Cleo Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Edward Powers; two infant daughters, Michelle Marie Powers and Devette Marie Powers; two brothers, Arthur Davis and William Davis; three sisters, infant Mary Frances Davis, Martha Schoonover and Mae Lou Fredeking.

Carolyn was a graduate of Florissant High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She married the love of her life David Edward Powers on April 29, 1961. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and her favorite great grandma aka "Fluffy". She loved her family dearly and even the ones that were not blood related, still treated them as her own.

David and Carolyn were married for 47 years and 4 months before he preceded her in death on August 12, 2008.  Together they had four children, Michelle Marie Powers, Devette Marie Powers, Lynda Anne Trimm (Gerald) and Susan Rene' Smith (Michael).

Carolyn had several very close friends and loved them all dearly, Joann Brower and Linda Rogers to name a couple. Her love, many memories, and stories will forever live on through her children, grandchildren and friends.

Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Lynda Anne Trimm (Gerald) and Susan Rene' Smith (Michael); six grandchildren: Jerry Jay Trimm (Ashley), David Tyler Trimm (Kayla), Michaelah Lyn-Rene Phelps (Zachary Alexander Cartwright), Frank Jackson "Jake" Phelps Jr., Shania Elizabeth-Lyn Trimm (Caleb Fields); 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Geoffrey Oliver Davis Jr. and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be on Thursday, September 14, 2023, beginning at 10:00 am until service time.
