Billie Joe Hopper, 76, of Bowling Green died on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at his residence. The Riverside, KY native was born on November 17, 1940 to the late Raymond and Lucille Hardin Hopper.
He retired after 31 ½ years from Eaton-Cutler Hammer. He was a member of White Stone Quarry Baptist Church.
Mr. Hopper is survived by his wife, Linda Hopper; two daughters, Claraissia Dale Hopper and Tammy Phelps (Dwayne); a sister, Betty Hix; six grandchildren, Cassie Hopper (Travis), Brandi Boyd-Phelps (Gary), Shane Boyd (Karen), Jamie Mains (Jeremiah), Jessie Boyd, and Ivy Phelps; eight great-grandchildren, Lane and Luke Hopper, Enna Wells, Bentley and Cooper Mains, Allie-Grace and Bryson Boyd, and Oakley Boyd, who is due in April; a niece, Darlene Page; a nephew, Clayton Hix; a great nephew, Justin Page (Betsy); and twin great-great nephews due in April.
A funeral is scheduled for Friday, February 24, 2017 at 1 PM at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Archie Newman Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 – 8 PM at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
