Bertha Ruth Cantrel Baumgarten, 89, died on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at The Medical Center. The Bowling Green native was born on February 12, 1935 to the late Mary Belle Harden and Roy Cantrel. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Baumgarten; a son, Robert J. Baumgarten; a grandson, Eric Baumgarten; and a brother, Leroy "Lee" Cantrel.

Mrs. Baumgarten had been the owner of Ms. Marci's Dress Shop in Bowling Green and also a district manager for Avon.

She is survived by a daughter, Michele Lee Allen (David); a son, Charles "Chuck" A. Baumgarten; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Baumgarten; four grandchildren, Kelli Jo Ulibarri (Nick), Holly Jackson (Major), Myles Baumgarten, and Kyle Baumgarten (Jennifer); two great-grandchildren, Milo and Penelope Baumgarten; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Hopkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their love and care during her time spent there.

A graveside service for Mrs. Baumgarten will be held at a later date. Her services have been entrusted to Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.
