Bernard R. Weigel, Sr., 78, of Bowling Green, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at Greenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

The St. Louis, MO native was born November 27, 1938 to the late John R. and Virginia Novak Weigel. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

Mr. Weigel retired from General Motors after 30 years of service and was a member of the UAW. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the occasional trips to Vegas. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Juanita E. Young Weigel; one daughter, Lisa Woosley (Eric); two sons, Bernard R. Weigel, Jr. and Brian Weigel (Leslie); one brother, Jim Weigel (Eileen); seven grandchildren, Bernard Weigel, III, Sarah Slaughter, Melissa Weigel, Hunter Cooper, Addison Weigel, Olivia and Sydney Woosley; ten great grandchildren and one on the way.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
