Bernard "Bernie" R. Weigel, Jr., 60, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully  Sunday, November 21, 2021, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

The St. Louis, Missouri native was born on Christmas Eve, 1960. He was a son of the late Bernard R. Weigel, Sr. and Juanita E. Weigel who survives.

Mr. Weigel worked in construction and was a Baptist. He visited several churches, enjoyed spending time with his family, and loved fishing and bowling.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Sarah Politte and Melissa Weigel; one son, Bernard R. Weigel, III; one sister, Lisa Woosley (Eric); one brother, Brian Weigel (Leslie); thirteen grandchildren, Breanna, Amy, Miranda , James, Lucas, Lydia, Vivianna, Liam, Lillian, Sawyer, Violet, Noah and a baby boy expected to arrive in February; special nieces and nephews, Olivia and Sydney, Hunter and Addi; special friend Teresa Miller.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 pm, Monday, November 29, 2021, at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
