Obituary

Barbara Gilchrist, 86, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025 at the Hopkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Woodburn.

The Bowling Green native was a daughter of the late Edgar and Adeline Moats Kitchens and was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Gilchrist and a sister, Grace Sandefur.

Mrs. Gilchrist spent most of her life as a homemaker, devoted to her loving husband and children.

Survivors include her two daughters, Cindy Jo Krebs (Christopher) and Julie Anne Williamson (Brad); one sister, Linda Colovos (Alex); two brothers, Jim Kitchens and Larry Kitchens (Barbara); four grandchildren, Courtney Thacker (Jake), Chad Krebs (Caitlyn), Lindsay Dattilo and McKenzie Williamson; three great grandchildren, Caldwell Krebs, Knox Thacker and Clara Krebs; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, April 21, 2025 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery #2. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.

The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation for the loving care given to Barbara by the staff at Hospice, Hopkins Center and by her very special caregivers.
