Avis Holman Jackson, 94, of Oakland, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at her residence. The Coles Bend native was the daughter of the late Hardin Holman and Helen Grinstead Holman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Frank P. Jackson; son, David Jackson; and sister, Aleene Meeks.

She was a member of Crosspoint Church and known for her cooking.

She is survived by two sons, Doug Jackson (Linda) and Richard Jackson (Sally); four grandchildren, Christy Jackson Cox, Brad Jackson, Matthew Jackson (Miranda), and Andrew Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Fuller (Jerran), Brooklyn Cox, Natalie Jackson, and Savannah Jackson; two great-great grandchildren, Jackson Reece and Rylee Fuller and an additional great-great grandchild on the way.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
