Athena Davis Vaughan, 88, of Bowling Green, passed away Friday, January 23 at the Medical Center. The Greensburg, KY native was the daughter of the late Frank Davis and Annie Mae Wright Davis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Nick Vaughan; one infant brother, Burlin R. Davis; four sisters, Media Tucker (Garnet), Ozell Davis (Boyce), Wanain Judd (Dalton), and Orvenice Bishop (Doyle).

Mrs. Vaughan was a member of Bowling Green Christian Church. She retired from Wal-Mart where she worked in the fabric department. Athena enjoyed attending church and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, Nick Vaughan (Amy); one daughter, Catherine Basham (Brad); three grandchildren, Cole Vaughan (Bailey), Lauren Potts (David) and Dathan Meredith; two great grandchildren, Zoey Potts and Aiden Potts.

Funeral service will be held at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 28, at 12:00 p.m. burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
