Annis Combs, 86, formerly of Bowling Green, passed away in Louisville on Sunday, December 31. The Macon County, TN native was the daughter of the late Reverend S. Ray and Lorene Blankenship Gilliam.
Ms. Combs was a retired office manager for Dr. David Buchanan and a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Homemakers Club, and a Salvation Army volunteer. Ms. Combs was also a WKU sports fan, where she was a ticket holder for many years as well as an usher.
She is survived by her son, Greg Combs (Kevin Williams) of Louisville, KY; two daughters, Jennifer Combs Clemens of Louisville, KY and Peggy Combs Cartwright of Clay, KY; six grandchildren, Leslie Clemens Hooker (Cage), Dakota Clemens, Skylar Clemens, Ross K. Jordan, Jr. (Christy), Stuart Jordan (Bethany), and Clayton Jordan; five great-grandchildren, Bianca Clemens, Axel Hooker, Bryleigh Jordan, Maxton Jordan, and Raylynn Jordan; and her lifelong friend, Travis Combs of Clay, KY.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Union United Methodist Church in Scottsville, KY with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday. January 6 at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
