Aleene Meeks, 96 of Oakland, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. The Barren County native was a daughter of the late Hardin and Helen Grinstead Holman and was preceded in death by her husband James W. Meeks.

Mrs. Meeks was a homemaker and a member of Martinsville Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Remona Barry (Ken) and Beverly Huntsman (Edward); three grandchildren Tammy Cowles (DeWayne), Jason Barry and Robin Huntsman; two great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Sierra; two step-great grandchildren, Chance (Hannah) and Mattie (Anthony); one great- great grandchild, Mayleigh; one sister, Avis Jackson.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Monday, September 23, 2024 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, September 22, 2024 and again from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Monday at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.
