Betty Kate Thomas Hybiak, 82, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at The Madison Healthcare Center in Indianapolis, IN.

Betty was born September 5, 1930 a daughter of the late Will Roy Thomas and Ruby Evelyn Fitzpatrick Thomas. She was a graduate of Alvaton High School and Bethel Women's College in Hopkinsville, KY. Betty worked at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL, as an X Ray Technician for a number of years before she and her husband, Walter "Wally" John Hybiak, who was a Chemist, moved to Indianapolis. Wally died in 1993.

Despite living with a lifetime affliction of Cerebral Palsy, Betty showed a lot of courage by doing things that you would not expect from someone with this affliction.

She is survived by cousins on her father's side, Mary Jo Cross of Paris, KY, James Thomas of Bowling Green, William Thomas (Patricia), of Bowling Green and cousins on her mother's side, Richard Fitzpatrick (Dale) of Las Vegas, NV and Robert Fitzpatrick of Springfield, MO.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Friday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
